Summary:
Desperate to get home to her grieving mom before Christmas, artist Mira decides to take a gamble on a group of college students renting a car and driving to her hometown. It's not until personal items start mysteriously disappearing that Mira fully realizes how much danger she's in--she's stranded with four total strangers, and there is a distinct chance that one of them wants nothing more than to hurt her.

Thoughts:
This was a really well-done thriller, an excellent execution of the group-of-strangers whodunnit. Admittedly, I am notoriously bad at correctly guessing who in a group is the perpetrator, but I was definitely on the edge of my seat reading this, and was just the right amount of surprised at the reveal. It was clever, logical without being predictable, and most of the threads of the story came together really nicely. I especially liked the way references to Mira's experiencing her aunt's death, and Mira's being an artist, were pieces of the puzzle in addition to being good character development.
The story wasn't perfect--the mysterious dude who followed the group around was just a random guy, which felt a bit anticlimactic for how emphasized his coincidental presence was--but nearly everything else lined up very well. For anyone looking for an exciting read or a good book for getting out of a book slump, this is an excellent option.
