Summary:

Thoughts:
I enjoyed this book exactly as much as expected--immensely. The competence and determined survival is so satisfying to read; the family really creates a whole life for themselves out of nothing. There is a kind of obscene amount of God in the book, the writing is not very adventurous or descriptive, and the family kills so. many. animals. But something about the calm confidence of the narrator makes everything feel under control and okay and I adore it with all my heart.
