Summary:
After her entire hometown learned that Scarlett was dating a married man, she was hated, ostracized. But now she's back; she got custody of her younger brother from her alcoholic and abusive mother, and she's determined to give her brother the steady life he deserves. She's fully prepared to suffer through his formative years, to live isolated and friendless, with her brother her only priority. Then she meets Wyatt, her new boss. And Brady, her brother's teacher. And Carter, the brother of her abusive ex's wife. And she realizes that she perhaps has more potential for happiness than she ever could have imagined.
Thoughts:
This was very much a projectable fantasy, but it wasn't a bad read. The writing was fun, the characters were distinct, and topics of abuse and addiction were relatively well-handled. I'm not going to look for any more books by Reed, but I'm not upset I read it.
