Summary:
Darin didn't want to live his life in fear; he wanted to take risks and make art. A Spark within the Forge details his transformation from an artist, sneaking away from his grandparent's home and his duties to sit on rooftops and draw, to the apprentice to Spiro Teluman, great blacksmith of the legendary Teluman blades.
Thoughts:
This was a super cute graphic novel. The art wasn't super incredible, in my opinion, but it wasn't weird, and I liked how the characters looked. The message was cute, and it was cool to see, in full detail, scenes that we only got flashes of from Laia. Overall, I'd recommend this to any fan of Tahir's series or someone who likes graphic novels to read it as a standalone.
