Summary:
Neil has never felt guilt about other people before. But since Seth,  one of his teammates, was murdered in retribution for Neil's insulting Riko Moriyama, Neil is experiencing it for the first time. But the truth that none of the foxes are willing to acknowledge is that without Seth, they have a real chance to be great. Though Neil's identity is known by dangerous people now, Neil is determined to play out the season—just one season—before he dies. Foxes are complicated, their team dynamics even more so. But they are worth fighting for.

Thoughts:
Going on a University of Washington tour the day after finishing this book was insane. Cross symbols were Renee and the football stadium just made me think of how much Neil loved the sound of a crowd on game night. This series hijacks my brain. But it's okay. Because Andrew. Neil. Foxes. I love Neil warming up to the Foxes, and how much he understands their dynamics more than anyone else. I will say, the scene at Nicky's parents house comes out of absolute nowhere. Like I know he was abused, but every time, it just shocks me. And then Neil's time at Edgar Allen is the opposite: Two—three?—weeks lost that I would give my left hand to be able to read. But despite the amount of pain that my babies experience, I know where they are going to end up: How Andrew coming off drugs will improve things, and how Neil's skills learned at Edgar Allen will be a deciding factor in their Ravens game.
The third book is even better, so my review for that one will be more complete. I think my next read will involve a ton of different shades of orange post-its, but for now I am so excited to be rereading this series again, even if it means ignoring my TBR. Oh well.
